Saunders has 20+ years in the betterment of education, and has served in various academic roles from professor to University President, and for a number of well-reputed universities. Martha D. Saunders is best known as successful University President, savvy businesswoman, effective communicator, student-centered educator, and active fundraiser.

Martha D Saunders, Education

Prior to beginning a long and successful career in Education, Martha D. Saunders achieved her own level of excellence in higher education from Bachelor of Arts to Ph.D. Martha D. received her Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1969. Next, she attended the University of Georgia, Grady School of Journalism for her Masters Degree in Journalism. Finally, Martha D. Saunders successfully won her Ph.D. in Communication Theory & Research from Florida State University in 1990. It was with these accreditations and superior training that Martha D. Saunders was able to embark upon a sterling career in higher education.

Martha D. Saunders, University President to Professor

Martha D. Saunders began her career in Education at the University of West Florida in 1984 and worked as Associate Professor, Coordinator of the Public Relations Program, Director of the University Honors Program, Associate Dean, and now holds a current position as Provost and Professor of Communications. From 2002 to 2005, Saunders worked for Columbus State University as Vice President for Academic Affairs. From 2005 to 2007, Martha D. Saunders worked in a number of fulfillment and administrative roles for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Next, came Martha’s work for the University of Southern Mississippi which began in 2007 and would span the next five years, where she held titles from University President to Professor Communications.
